OpenProject 7.0 released
We are proud to announce the release of OpenProject 7.0. The release contains several new features and performance improvements, such as a new user-friendly timeline, work package hierarchies and many additional improvements.
Users of the OpenProject Enterprise cloud and Enterprise on-premises edition can upload their own company’s logos and custom color theme as well as use multi-select custom fields.
What is new in OpenProject 7.0?
New integrated Gantt chart / timeline
The work package page includes the option to activate a timeline view. You can easily update the start and due date by simply dragging and dropping elements in the timeline. The timeline can be saved in a query.
Display hierarchies in the work package table
Work package hierarchies can be displayed in the work package table and can be easily expanded or collapsed.
Attribute group configuration for work package types
Work package types can be configured and attribute groups can be created or edited.
Filter based on date in work package table
Work packages in the work package table can be filtered based on a fixed date.
New header navigation
The main navigation has been rearranged and includes the name of the current project.
Archive and delete projects from project settings
Project administrator can easily archive and delete projects from the project settings page of the respective project.
Zen-mode on work package page
In order to optimize the space used on the work package page, you can activate the zen mode which hides all elements except for the work package page.
Multi-select custom fields (Enterprise add-on)
Users of the Enterprise cloud and Enterprise on-premises edition can create multi-select custom fields to select more than one custom value to a work package.
Logo upload and custom color scheme (Enterprise add-on)
Users of the Enterprise cloud and Enterprise on-premises edition can upload their company’s logo and use their own custom color scheme in OpenProject.
Performance improvements
The work package table is loaded more quickly.
Improved design
OpenProject 7.0 improves the user experience for users on mobile devices. Additionally, many small adjustments improve OpenProject’s overall user experience.

To use OpenProject 7.0 online, create an instance on OpenProject.org.

Follow the migration guide for the packaged installation or the migration guide for the manual installation to update your OpenProject installation to OpenProject 7.0.
