OpenProject 4.1 released

Finally, the wait is over: OpenProject 4.1 has been released. After months of development, testing and bug fixing we are proud to release OpenProject 4.1 as the latest stable version of OpenProject.

OpenProject 4.1 is a major improvement over the previous version with several new features such as in-place editing on the work package split screen and overall improved design.

What is new in OpenProject 4.1?

Updated work package split screen

With OpenProject 4.1 work package attributes are clustered into attribute groups and only attributes which have values assigned are displayed by default.

In-place editing on work package split screen

Work package information can now be quickly updated using in-place editing on the split screen without leaving the work package table.

Improved work package table and filters

The filter section has been updated to include the number of selected filters. In addition, the ID column in the work package table is configurable. Please note: When updating to OpenProject 4.1, the ID column is removed from existing queries. It has to be added again manually.

Improved work package full screen

Several usability improvements have been made to the work package full screen, such as the option to expand or collapse the watcher and files section. In addition, it has become easier to edit values such as the subject and the description.

New design through Foundation framework

With OpenProject 4.1 Foundation is being used as a CSS-framework. As a result, the design of the whole application has been improved.

Many accessibility improvements

The in-place editing for the split screen is fully accessible. In addition, several other accessibility improvements have been made.

Follow the migration guide for the packaged installation or the migration guide for the manual installation to update your OpenProject installation to OpenProject 4.1.
